Why It's Not on the List
Ed, Edd n Eddy: The Mis-Edventures
September 30, 2005
Well, it’s Ed, Edd n Eddy, so it’s never going to get massive points with me on that fact alone. But honestly, Mis-Edventures stands as a solid 3D platformer. It’s an interesting romp, where the Eds combine their abilities together in order to complete missions throughout the Cul-De-Sac. You can definitely tell the developers put a lot of care into this one, even recreating the neighborhood Cul-De-Sac, and it looks and feels well within the "spirit" of the show. They even included 2D animated cutscenes into the game, and though limited, they were at least a nice attempt to inject more of the show's art into the game itself.
Codename: Kids Next Door – Operation: V.I.D.E.O.G.A.M.E.
October 11, 2005
Again, this is another show I was never really personally interested in. But oddly enough, this is another solid title. It really captures the essence of the original series with its cheeky writing and spot on characterization. The models are also very faithful recreations of the characters, which isn’t always easy for a show with such a…unique art style. It’s another fun enough 3D platformer with some 3rd person shooter elements thrown in too. Though I may not be the biggest fan of Kids Next Door, I can’t ignore that this is a well made platformer.
Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion
November 15, 2011
While it maybe a clone of Smash Bros., it’s a dang well enjoyable 2D fighter, and offers a fun crossover for any CN fan. The story mode includes lots of locations and enemies taking right from the shows themselves. Plus I really dig some of these special attacks, they're so creative and kind of bogus to see in action.
Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land
October 29, 2013
Huh, another retro throwback, though this time to the painfully difficult games of the 80s! There’s a lot of different gameplay styles here, with Mordecai being able to pilot a jet, to Rigby being able to switch to a top down shooter. But a lot of the fun comes in the game bosses, much like many of those old 80s games.
Adventure Time: Hey, Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!!
November 20, 2012
Undisputed winner of the longest title for a video game award. This game's another retro throwback, this time to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and it’s a fine homage at that. It oozes charm and style in its graphics and writing, and it’s a pretty stellar RPG on its own. It’s an overall solid adventure.
Trivia[]
Ed, Edd n Eddy: The Mis-Edventures, Codename: Kids Next Door – Operation: V.I.D.E.O.G.A.M.E., and Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land were adapted from cartoons which were reviewed in both of Strider's like-hatelists.
